i read about the poor guy overseas where basses are really expensive. i feel bad. remember, not all expensive ones sound good for what your doing. the zon basses play amazing, but the tone would not work in my band. i use a cheap bass i found in a funny way. ive been endorsed with ibanez and carvin and g&l , had offers from other companies too. awhile back i went to a music store cuz i was bored, and wanted to check out 5 string basses. grabbed a fender, and the other i dont remember the brand. i never had tried a spector, so grab that one too. the fender said $1700, the other was slightly less. i knew spectors were 2-3 grand. well, the fender and the other one sounded like a hondo/memphis compared to the spector. (sorry fender fans) so i had to buy it. i flip it over to see the price, and it said $675. someone made a mistake on the price! so i figure ill act real cool and ring it up to the cash register and hopefully they wont notice the mistake. they didnt, and i took the bass home to check it out on ebay to see how much i had "got away with". well, they were cheaper on ebay ! it was no mistake. its a copy made in europe. my head is still confused about how good it is. i have more than one now, and they are consistant. i figured i may have just gotten a good sounding one by accident, but the consistancy is there. the korea ones, do not compare however, in playability or sound. the legend model rocks. the guys at spector were nice enough to offer me endorsement, and put me in the artist list on thier site even though i did not want to sign up (i still wish to remain a bass whore, trying and using whatever i wish). i wrote this after reading the thread about basses being too expensive in another thread. there are good ones out there... johnny a
