FLame Away - My More Modified - "Fender" Vintage Modified Jazz!

So I just did some mods to my Squier Vintage Modified Jazz. Before you flame away on the headstock logo, if or when I go to sell it, it WILL NOT be sold as a Fender Jazz. I would be very clear on the fact that it's a Squier.

In any case, here are the mods so far:

- Squier logos removed front and back of headstock
- Fender 70's Jazz logo for headstock
- Clear coat applied on headstock
- Brand new Fender USA Custom Shop 60's pickups installed
- New upgraded bridge (much heavier) installed (can't remember brand - had it laying around)
- Schaller strap locks installed
- New Fender 7150m/s Nickel Rounds Installed
- Full setup (including intonation)

Other upgrades ordered and/or coming
- Fender 70's "F" logo neck plate
- Audere 3 band pre-amp
- Tuners (deciding which ones to order now)

So why dump all this cash into a Squier? Because the damn thing looks great, feels great, plays as good as most MIA Fenders I've tried and now sounds GREAT too (not that it sounded bad before but the Custom SHop 60's are a nice and worthy upgrade). It will TRULY give almost any new MIA Fender a run for it's money and then some. So check out the pics and feel free to flame away on the logo and neck plate thing... :p

Pretty :)

Shame the logo doesn't sit too well IMO. If you like it then cool. I'm just a perfectionist arse lol.

This is what i did to my logo:

I've buggered up the lacquer finish though so i need to sand it down (hopefully not hitting the decal) and re-do it :(

If I scramble the logo I'll have to make my own decal. Sigh :(

You could set it on fire like Hendrix and get all the flame you want... :D
No flame coming from me. You understand the issues, have the bass you want playing and soundling the way you want. Cool.

And remember the old proverb:
Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day.
Set him on fire and you keep him warm for the rest of his life."

The logo thing I would never do that :rollno: so tell me how you did it:hiding:

As far as getting the stock logos off, man it was SOOOOO easy. A small rag and 100% pure acetone. Seconds later, both were gone! I could not believe how fast and easy they came off. I really thought that I was going to try that, fail and have to sand or something else. But the acetone worked like a champ (avail for a few bucks @ any beauty supply store).

Squier must put their logos on top of the finish, otherwise this method probably would not have worked...
