What bass?

Every bass mentioned would be a wise choice but here is my choice the Ibanez Sound Gear and get your choice of colors they have nice shades.Get one of the better ones not one of the lesser ones they usually have a split coil and J pickup or 2 Humbuckers. For your style of playing maybe the humbuckers will work out best

What do you think of an Ibanez SR400.

That's the one I have - the SR400QM in cherryburst. It's beautiful! It has a narrow/thin neck (1 1/2" nut) that Ibanez SR/SRX series basses are known for - a smaller to medium size body - 34" scale - 3 band active EQ - a somewhat scooped sound in the flat positions - very bassy with crisp highs - many tones possible - comes with Elixers. If you like "fast" necks - be sure to try one. ;)
