Firebird Pickup In A Bass

Anyone ever try using a pickup from a Firebird guitar in a bass?

I do know that the original "bridge" pickup of the EB-3 and EB-2D were basically modified versions of the existing mini-humbucker designed to replace the old "New York" pickups. My understanding is that there was no change in the pickup other than modifying it from 6 to 4 pole pieces.

But how about the Firebird pickups?

Anyone?

I'll be seeing how this works in my old EB-0. Right now I have a SD SCPB pickup in that big, messy rout- and IIRC, it measures out at something like 14.5K. The FB pickup measures out around 15K.

This EB-0 is my first bass- I've had it for over 20 years, since I was 15 or so years old. The rout has been expanded and hacked at- I'm surprised I haven't gone through the back. It's never sounded "good" in the traditional sense of the "Fender-y" bass sound- but my main gig these days is a Rolling Stones cover band, and this thing, in all it's boomy, thuddy, indistinct goodness, really fills the bill. Right now, it's wired up so that the vol knob is the SCPB and the tone knob is the Mudbucker- and the pots are wired sort of like a Jazz, so the volumes are independent of each other. It's cool- but the Mudbucker really overpowers the SCPB- even wide open- besides that (although the whole thing is an ugly mess) the SCPB sort of looks out of place on this thing. The FB pickup is much more "Gibson-y" looking- and if it sounds cool- that's a win.
