SX Essex bridge replacement question

So, the bridge on my SX57P is functional but one of the few components that seems rather chintzy.

Assuming I decide to upgrade it, which way should I go?

I was thinking Gotoh, but someone mentioned that they were of such a different thickness that it made it more difficult to adjust the action.

What about a Fender replacement bridge?

Other options?

Anyone with experience care to weigh in?

i put a gotoh on my 62sxpj. i had to change the saddles from gotoh, back to the original because of action issues. but after the swap, the SX has the lowest action of them all.

but the neck buzzes. and its not low action fret buzz either. its not one of the keys, or anything like that. the neck just has this weird buzzing at certain points on the neck... like the frets are buzzing in their seats, but i cant find any that are loose...

If you install any bridge with a thicker base plate (like a Gotoh) you may have to, and really should, shim the neck to bring the heel up to a point where the strings are at the same relative height they were with the thinner plate.

It's not hard, and from my experience, a rough guide is to use a shim that is 1/3 of the difference in thickness of the base plates under the neck screws closest to the bridge (I use paper, works fine).

Better quality steel and plating. Nice solid brass saddles. A very nice, high quality Fender style bridge for reasonable money.
They're $30. I prefer these vintage style bridges to the higher mass Gotoh's, Badass' etc.

Check ebay. Sometimes you can find them on there for $15- $20.
