Goth Thunderbird Satin Finish Removal

Good evening.

I have an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird with a black satin finish.
I was curious on how I could remove this finish to prepare for another paint job.

Will sanding do? Is there certain chemicals I should use/not use?

Any help is appreciated.

If its poly sanding is about your only hope, I tried to strip poly off a J-bass and the chemical strippers wouldn't touch the stuff.

since that finish is essentially primer, I would just 600 grit wetsand any gloss areas to fuzz up the surface and shoot color over it. done and done.

If you have access to a heat gun(and know what ur doing), with some basses you can heat them up and peel the finish off easily. I don't know what i'm talking about, but i've seen it done.

My favourite colour is Chartreuse (Half green, half yellow)

So I was thinking of doing a scheme of chartreuse and black. I think it would be pretty

Like a Chartreuse to Black burst? That might be really cool...or solid chartreuse with black hardware / accents? Either sounds pretty damn cool, and original too, especially for that particular style bass.

I was debating it myself...
I kind of wanted more black than chartreuse (Peter Steele anyone?) but I am having a little bit of difficulty laying it out :/
Are you any good with photoshop
