New Nikki Sixx Thunderbird

Has anyone played one of these already? I'm curious as to what they are like and what your opinions are of them.

I love the wood and the finish, hate the inlays and pickguard. If you put regular dot markers on it instead, and a regular Tbird pickguard it would be a great looking bass.

Here's what it looks like on an Epi-bird (it's the thing on the back of the bridge)!

Here's the newest Gibson Sixx T'bird (note: no thing on the back of the bridge).

It might be that in their rush to put a photo on the site (Is it just me or it does look like a bit like a composite photo?) Gibson has used the wrong bridge. It may be they have the wrong text. Who knows?

Post 14 shows it is a Gibson rush job!

Wow to the pic in real life. It looks so much darker than on the website. What is an "Opti-Grab" for anyway?

An I agree that the inlays are terrible, but I like the pickguard. I don't like how it has his signature on it though and that X

It's a long story I'll try to keep it short......
Opti-Grab is from an old Steve Martin movie called "The Jerk" it was an invention designed to help keep one's glasses on.
On the bass, its a loop of metal that Nikki rests his pinkie finger on while he plays using a pick.
I know, you think I'm making it up, but I'm not that clever!

Ok, here it goes. Nikki had a habit of anchoring his pinkie on the bridge of his basses. He eventually had a bracket mounted on his basses as an anchoring point. The Opti-Grab is just a marketing name for it.
