Details

Up for sale is my Ibanez ATK 305. I bought this new about three months ago from a store here in Richmond and while it's not mint (mint, to my mind, being absolutely brand new), it's in excellent shape. I think I only managed to put one scratch in the body and I'll be polishing that out tonight. The black pickguard shows typical light sratching.

Some details:

- Ash body
- maple fretboard w/ round edge treatment
- Trifade burst with black pickguard
- Ibanez ATK Triple Coil pickup
- ATK 3-band EQ & tone character switch
- can be strung through body or through bridge. I happened to have a mixed set of D'Addario XLs with long scale E-G and a super long scale B, so that's what it's currently wearing, with the B strung through the body and the rest through the bridge.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite budget bass of all time. For sheer gig-worthiness I will take the Pepsi challenge with this bass vs. anything else on the market. It's solid, dependable and between the coil switching and the EQ I can dial in a variety of really useful sounds. Does it sound like a P-Bass? No. A Jazz Bass? No. A Stingray? No. It has it's own unique tone that I've found sits very well in a mix. And the B is excellent.

So if I'm so high on it why am I selling it? Because I couldn't resist another bass here on TB and the balance must be maintained lest I displease She Who Must Be Obeyed. If my latest purchase doesn't work out I'll buy another ATK, no question.

In summary - 3 mos. old, plastic still on the control cavity cover, fresh setup.

Asking $400 shipped in the lower 48. I think I'm all out of gig bags but I'm up to my knees in bubble wrap, so it'll be packed well.

Always happy to talk trades. Currently on my wish list:

-backup head (LMII, Genz-Bemz Shuttle, Carvin B800, Peavey Tour series, etc. etc.)
- rack tuner
- 3-spc rack bag
- a good multi-effect
- preamp wired for four holes and one switch.
- Hipshot cloverleaf ultralights (5) 1/2" width

Thanks,
J.

Nice Bass I think you should keep it - you'll regret selling it and well - my 2 cents : )

You're probably right:) This is my go-to electric currently and it consistently gets the job done gig after gig. Just trying to round up some cash to fund a stealth-Jazz project I'm working on, but might have to hold on to this one.

In the meantime, while I make up my mind, bump!

I've got two fivers I'm gonna let go real quick like, and I'd give you both in trade. Washburn RB-2502 Hammerhead, and a Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V. Both play VERY well, and are in great shape. I've just recently become an ATK guy. Ibanez guy actually ATK and an Ash Acoustic. Love the ATK.

And I've recently become a Squier Active Deluxe 5 guy, but thanks anyway.

I'd really, really love to trade this for a P-Bass or p-style bass. Fender, Squier, Yamaha, something simple. That's my number one hope right now.

Thanks,
J.

Some new pics with a homebrew tort pickguard bought from a fellow TBer. It's a little rough around the edges and has an extra hole, but from 3 feet away it's pretty snazz if you ask me.

oh man...these ATK's...have my eye on one locally and don't want to take a chance it'll get banged up in transit. It's a beautiful bass though.
