Details

Hello TBers, If these basses were 5 strings I'd be keeping them. I've had a lot of fun making them into killer beasts!! But, now it's time for a 4 string player to make 'em sing on a regular basis.

First is my SOLD SOLD SOLD :-) '99 US Fender Jazz in near mint condition, one tiny paint chip about 1/3 of the size of a pencil eraser on the back side behind where your rt forearm rests.

All new upgrades that I installed just a couple months ago:
1) Audere JZ3 VB 3B pre
2) Badass III bridge w/ string-thru-body option
3) Dimarzio Model J pups (w/ series or parallel options, currently wired up in series. A screwdriver to the Audere & they can be parallel).
4) Hipshot D-tuner
5) Straplocks

Pro setup w/ custom strings to better accomodate the DADG tuning (115,85,65,45). Bass sounds HUGE w/ the Audere and pups upgrade!! Comes w/ GATOR STYLE HSC. Don't mind the tape on the PG, I was marking off where to drill for a pup cover. SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!.

Next is my 70's era "Lawsuit" era Aria Jazz copy from (I'm assuming) that famous Matsumoto (sp?) factory.

It has a great 3 piece super straight, RW fretboard blocked/bound, maple neck w/ what feels like Geddy dimensions. It had some crappy chrome pups in it, so I tricked it out BIG TIME!!!

1) NEW Seymour Duncan pups: 1/4 lb P and MM
2) NEW Fender Aerodyne PG, factory cut for a P pup
3) NEW era correct Fender-style tuners
4) the pots, plate, and knobs from the '99 Jazz listed above
5) fully shielded

$319 shipped to lower 48 w/ a cheap case that'll do the job, but is not the sturdiest thing.

Yeah, there's a few scratches on the PG that the flash ACCENTUATED, LOL. Any bass w/ a SD MM and 1/4lb P HAS to be SLAPPED a little, hehehe.

Sure thing guys. And the pickguard isn't really that scratched... I didn't know the scuffs were there 'til the flash brought 'em out. I've only slapped on it for like 15 minutes since the new guard was put on.

The bass must have been stored almost it's whole life, TRULY in great shape for (who knows) a 30-35 year old bass?? The binding has yellowed nicely w/ age and the frets are the smaller vintage size, like the ones on my Laklands.... NICE!! The Rosewood has some pretty grain, too.

Being a perfectionist... I must point out the things that I could've done better: I could've done a better job centering the new tuners, and I maybe could've got the route around the MM pup a little tighter. The large whole the chrome pup left, made it tricky especially when routing the screw bulges of the MM pup. But, given the basses value in today's economy, and the $$ I sunk into the upgrades.... I couldn't invest in a pro job. Oh, and I meant to get some slightly longer pup screws (Home Depot will have some that'd work) since the chrome pups left deeper than usual wholes, and the current screws are almost too short. Still was able to get the pups close enough to the strings for a killer tone though!

I also have a genuine Fender set of chrome covers, as well as the un-"F"ed bridge/neck pup Aria set (not as shiny). If I get the right offer, maybe I'll install the Fender set for the buyer. :)

That's the new Fender bridge cover off to the side, still in the bag. I've never tried to put the covers back on, I never realized that the MM pup would be completely hidden. :)

As someone who owns a USA Fender Jazz with Audere preamp and Dimarzio model Js, let me tell you, there is no more awesome combination in existence.

That Aria looks sweet too. Great deal. That could get me in trouble.

Thanks! Some would think I'm just tossing out a sales pitch... I'm not! The bass DOES kill! :bassist:

Oh, and I've got a GAS flair-up for another 5er or 2 or 3, HEHEHE. So, I'll be REALLY listening to all offers.

Sound clips..... hmm. I'm NOT very savy w/ that kinda thing! I'm still gushing over being able to post pics :D. But, my drummer could help me with it, if he has time. He's got a Brady Bunch going on at his house... literally! And honestly, it'd sell quicker w/ clips. Imagine a slightly brighter more aggressive SR (due to pup closer to bridge) sound, blended w/ that modern P thump that you can only get from a 1/4 P pup. And, they're both humbuckers, so you can go all P or all MM, and every blend in between... w/ NO hum. I love it, and can't wait to build a 5er like it, preferably a Lakland 55-01 w/ a custom guard to cover up the routes.

Hey guys, while messing w/ the bridge cover for the Aria, I noticed that I had NOT put the new bridge on it. The original one is not rusty (as you can see in the pics) but I lowered the price and edited the listing accordingly. I tried to replace the bridge w/ the newer one (which I'd stuck on another project). The screw # and pattern appeared the same, but the screw wholes do not match up.

Covers are still something that we can negotiate in w/ the deal, and I have new strings by the GOBS laying around, so lets haggle :). I also have P bass bridge and pup covers from a '67 lawsuit era bass, if somebody wanted to go that route, that would look interesting...

My 2nd Bass/1st Brand New Bass was an Aria Jazz, exactly like this one started out. GREAT Player, and sounded as good as my Snooty friend's, who owned a REAL Fender Jazz...

Memories Bump!:D

Yeah those chrome pups didn't sound bad at all, kinda reminded me of a Rick actually. Like Rick pups in jazz pup positions.

Just edited listing. Make your offers, I'm gonna make a strong effort to move her, before I sit on it 'til the economy improves.

SHE SOUNDS PHENOMENAL GUYS!!!
