Before I drop in a Bayou Audio Harness w/ 250K pots and a Mallory 150 .047uf cap and Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups, I thought I would post some soundclips of the SX J Bass. The only modifications I have done are a Gotoh 201 bridge and a Hipshot string retainer. So besides that, the bass is stock. Oh and the strings areD'Addario XLs.
In the clip all knobs are fully on. The recording signal path was SX J Bass->direct out (pre eq) on Fender Bassman 150->Behringer mixer->Behringer interface->Dell. I didn't use any compression or eq on Audacity so the bass is raw sounding, but I didn't want to mask the sound in any way. Yeah it's late and my groove is awful, song is When You Gonna Learn by Jamiroquai.

Tell me what you think of the tone and what kind of changes I should expect with the new harness and pickups. Thanks

And all this time I thought my tone was pretty bad and this was gonna be a tonal nirvana.
