Fixing the electronics in my T-40

It seems that I have to review the electronics in my T-40.

One switch is broken, one volume pot works so so and seems to break out its pickup.

Also I get a lot of scratch when I move the other pots. One of the tone pot is also hard to turn and the knobs are at different height form the pick guard.

I wonder if I should start with fresh components, or try to salvage the existing ones and replace the ones that do not work?

I was thinking about going as far as throwing everything away but the pickups, the knobs and the jack.

Yes, I know how to use a multimeter and more importantly a soldering iron.

Considering that the T40 has been around a bit, and the pots are all scratchy I would replace them all. Pots are not very expensive, and the same goes for the switches. If you can solder this should not be a bad project.

I am thinking more and more about overhauling the electronics completely and this means brand new pots and caps. I will only keep the jacks, pickups and knows, as well as the 3-way switch.

My phase switch is broken but I think the Allparts # EP 0180-010 or Radio Shack # 275-636 are the same (if I believe the T60 forum).

I was thinking about adding extra switch to turn the pickups into single coils manually. Or even one per pickup. Or maybe use push-pull pots so as not to wreck the original look, what do you think?
