Frostwave Users - Power Supply Question

Alright.....I got a Frostwave Funk-A-Duck from a fellow TB'er who says that the owner supply was not the original one that came with the Duck. Hey...Kelly if you're reading this...it's not because I don't trust you but because I want to learn about power requirements etc. Online it says that it is powered by a 16-18V AC power supply. On the Duck....there's a jack that says 16V. The power supply I got with the Duck is a Motorola 15V 200ma AC power supply. I tried to get more info on the Frostwave site but I could not find any more info. I'll supply more info if you need any...if i can find it ;). If Jucas or Nad read this can you tell me if Frostwave made their own adapters. Thanks!

I also have read threads on power requirements etc.....but in this case...this is a weird voltage i've never really seen. Thanks!

I seriously doubt it. Paul probably used a circuit inside the pedal that gives +/-15V DC, and for this to work properly you need about 15 or 16VAC as an input voltage. Using a lower AC input voltage won't damage the pedal, however it just may not work properly, or may have some extra hum from lack of voltage regulation. Using a higher AC input voltage will force the internal voltage regulators to burn off excess voltage as heat, which may or may not be a problem.

Stick to using the right adapter - and makes sure it's AC, not DC. :D
