Is it just me watching some of my favorite bands and the bassists always have a beard? It might be a just a fluke or maybe it's just a bass thing. Some kind of conspiracy. Show off your beard and join.

Yes we do...See Rule #27a of the IBBU (International Brotherhood of Bassists Union) bylaws. Rule #27b says we must also have a closet full of Hawaiian shirts (fedora optional) and black Ts.
