Bassists with Beards Club

I retain my beard club membership, but ceded the mustache for sinus surgery a few month ago. When my eyebrows are long enough, I figure to do a penthouse handlebar treatment.

As for maintenance, nothing for decades. This year I started using Honest Amish beard wax and balm, noticing it was tidier. This photo is without wax, only balm. The wax tidies thing up a bit more and keeps it there. When I had the stache, Fisticuffs wax for that special occasion when my wire wheel mustache needed to be reminded of its general shape.

I have to say, losing the thin scraggle isn't bad, what's left is short, but nice and thick. The bottom 6" or so of the long beard were getting thin and whispy. Not the effect I was going for. More Aqualung than Odin haha...

That's what Dan C Bearded calls a transparency trim. Cut the thin and whispy/split ends off for a fuller look. Addition by subtraction. I've done it twice, one at my Yeard (one year beard, no trim, aside from the moustache above your mouth) and four and a half months later. Each time my beard looked noticeably fuller, while being shorter. My profile pic was just before I did the second trim. I got to about 7-1/2" (top of lower lip to end of beard) and I took an 1-1/2" off. Looked much thicker. I'm back to 7-1/4" now.
