We were not familiar with the character prior to watching the show but still enjoyed it immensely.

Me either. I wish someone would do a ROM Space Knight show, but that's probably way too niche. I liked the dire wraiths.

To put it plainly, he's got dissociative identity disorder. Of course, way back when, they couldn't (or at least didn't) really say that, but he'd get "stuck" in various personas. He started taking on various personas in order to get info for his crime fighting from various social strata, but then couldn't get out of them. On top of that, because of his mental faculties always being suspect, and his enemies often having mental powers themselves, you're never quite sure if you can believe his stories. There are many arcs where things happen, but at the end, you're not sure any of it was real. In the hands of a capable writer, he's a fantastic and intriguing character that can touch on so many different topics and facets of life throughout his various personas and rogue's gallery to accompany them. But with a lackluster writer, it just becomes C-grade Batman, or even worse.

Now watching the ‘director’s’ cut of the second X-Files movie. So far it still feels like the first time I saw it - it’s a feature-length episode with a higher budget.

One night, I decided to surf my entire Xfinity lineup (I'm paying for it; might as well get the most out of it!), and I came across these gems:

"Story Television." A lot of great documentaries on this channel.

There's also a channel called "Kids" that has a nice variety of documentaries from 4pm to 2am.

"American Heroes Channel" - Another one with many interesting docs.

"Xumo Nature" and "Love Nature" - Wildlife docs.

I love documentaries, so with these choices, there's always something worth watching.

Watched the original Rollerball (1975) last night. Never saw it before. Interesting concept, and great visuals, but the overall story was a little loose.

Decided it was night for weirdness. Started with Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. It was absolutely amazing. Easily one of my favorite films I've seen the past few years. Next up is Six String Samurai. I know nearly nothing about this film except that it's odd and a good friend of mine - who far more often than not has similar taste to mine - highly recommends it. I'm a few minutes in, and so far, it seems rather promising. After that, I'm thinking maybe Jim Varney's Beverly Hillbillies or Jack Black's Be Kind Rewind - if I can stay up that late. Which is funny, because actors in both of those films had significant parts in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. It's all cyclical...

I loved it. It reminded me of UHF in the very best way, while also being it's own uniquely hilarious Weird Al film.

Absolutely. I found myself smirking and laughing in some way at every scene. An absolute masterpiece in weirdness, and just a well-crafted film overall.

Just started Your Friends and Neighbors.

Started this last night and liking it.

We just finished watching the entirety of Mad Men and needed a Jon Hamm fix. He seems a similar character in this but it may be too early to say that.

I enjoyed this one, but didn't like the sequel or the "Creep Tapes" series.

Sequel was pretty "meh," especially the ending trope. However, and maybe it was the "mood" I was in, but I ran through the "Creep Tapes" crazy fast. I was partly just in that vibe but also got an interesting glitch that allowed me to watch it for free so kinda just knocked out a season at a time. Legit looking forward to s03 in a couple weeks. Gonna have to get in the right space. But seeing "Pete" just be a total psycho has yet to get old.

Sisu 1 was so good I couldn't bare to watch the sequel, which I've read was awful. Same reason I didn't watch the Spinal Tap sequel. I didn't want to muck up the legendary vibes of the original. I'm feeling leery about the Spaceballs sequel too.

Well, I wasn't able to force myself to watch The Naked Gun 2025, too. After approximately 20 min I turned it off, probably forever.
But as for Sisu 2, I'd say that it isn't much worse than Sisu 1.

It was ok. Sort of just more of the same. Both seem to draw heavily from Tarantino and his earlier inspirations, with Mad Max thrown in, of course. First one was definitely better though (saw it in the theater, Sisu 2 on streaming so worth the price and there are worse ways to spend time...)
