push/pull pot with blend pot

i'm looking to mod my squire jazz a little

id like to keep it passive

can any one show me a wiring diagram for a jazz bass with both a series/parallel push pull pot and a blend pot? (if thats possible)

if any one has any suggestions for and other mod for around $25 fell free to put it out there

I don't have a diagram handy but the idea is to connect the hot from the neck pickup to the ground of the bridge pickup via a switch. I just did mine last week. I used a DPDT switch rather than the push/pull S1.

Mine is a Fender Jazz 24 which has only one volume so my wiring is a little different from yours but the above is the basic idea.

I don't know of a blend pot with a switch. When you have two ganged pots for blend, adding a switch would make it very deep and probably wouldn't fit in the cavity. Stewmac single pots with switch are 1 and 1/8" deep - adding another ganged pot would put this close to the thickness of the body.

Do what Woodell suggests - separate switch.

Ok, this diagram is what you are looking for then:

Worth noting, since you have a blend pot you need to set the blend all the way to the neck side when your in series mode.
If your willing to use a mini toggle instead of a push pull, you can get a 3PDT switch and wire up like in this diagram to bypass the blend pot when you are in series:

Your welcome.

3PDT means triple-pole-double-throw.

That basically means 3 seperate switches together on one shaft, and each switch can toggle from A to B.

A push/pull pot is DPDT, which is enough for a series/parallel, but if you want to bypass the blend pot, you need a third pole on the switch.

I've been wanting to do this to my Jag but couldn't wrap my head around how to wire the switch.

That's fine. Make sure that whatever you get is an on/on switch rather than an on/off/on that has a center position in which nothing is connected. It should only have two positions rather than three. I just switched mine out this afternoon since when I did the original installation I only had the three position switch. It still worked but I didn't like the useless position.

As I am working two jobs M-F I could come up with one this weekend when I am off if you have time to wait and someone else hasn't come up with one by then.
