Today, the strap on my 20+ year old Bobelock case broke at the place where the little metal swivel mounts on the bracket. Pics below. The case is in otherwise fine shape. Wondering if i should just Macgyver it with a couple of zip ties, or get a new strap (if such a thing can be ordered separately) or other? I don't really want to change cases right now, as the rest of it is rock solid.

Can you show the other half that you need to connect to??
I'm intrigued.
Lots of stuff breaking lately!
Thx, and I feel your pain.

Chris, is the other part of that metal piece a clasp that attaches to something on the bag? If so, that part can probably be found online, for example:

Strap Swivel Clasp with Screw Bar

You'd want the screw bar so you don't have to un-sew parts of the strap to install it. You might have to cut the remnants of the old swivel clasp off. Also, the 1" wide one shown may not be wide enough, you might have to search online to find the right width for your strap.

Good luck!

Take it to a luggage repair shop. They'll know what to do.
