Truth.

There has to be another way to deal with blow outs than letting a second baseman lob balls in.

I'd be interested to hear what serious proposals might be to remedy it.

There is no solution without a bunch of limiting rules. If you increase the numbers of pitchers on a roster, managers will just start using them more in close games (remember a few years ago when relivers were facing one batter and getting replaced?).

Fans would rightly be upset if you started using a mercy rule.

Is the first round still the "wildcard" one game winner takes all? At least it used to be 10 years ago but I recall a TON of Dodger fans crying about it because the Dodgers would choke on that one game and they were outta the post season. I thought it was perfect then.*

I'm sort of the opposite. Baseball outcomes can be so random that a single game shouldn't determine who moves on. I'm not saying every series should be best-of-seven, but I'd want best-of-five for the first two rounds.
