Fender Precision Bass L Series 1965 Olympic White

Hi guys

I'm introducing my basses one by one...
First
Let's have a look at this Fender Precision Bass "L" Series made in 1965. It has never been played and still has its original set of strings wich were settled on the Fender factory.
Hard to believe ??? Of course you can think that, but it has been examined by Georges Grun and he confirms the facts.
I think the pictures will speak better than me...

Hard to believe??????
That is tragic...Holy cow, that poor, poor bass. I feel like I might weep a bit. On a serious note (pardon the pun) an instrument like that really does need to be played.. Badly!
And this is only the first one on his introduction list.
What else is there to come? Please post!!!
What a crime. Sell it already! :hyper: TO ME :bassist:

Its not every day you get to see a collector's item like this. I can understand the "its criminal not to play it," but I have to agree with the owner here. The criminal part comes in if this bass is not being kept in a climate-controlled vault somewhere.

Beautiful instrument. There are lots of great instruments out there - go play them instead. The fact that this one is factory fresh 44 years later (aside from some possible polishing marks) makes it unique, and, quite likely, very valuable.

I'll give you twenty bucks for it, right now. :)

As for the rest of your collection, well, I suspect its a downhill ride from here, folks. This ones a tough act to follow.

Pay no attention to them.
Please preserve history carefully; there are not many custom colors in this condition.
While this may be more comparable to a painting rather than a musical instrument, I doubt that there are more than a dozen that are this complete with accessories (assuming all is as it appears).
BTW, where do you think the custom shop went years ago when they needed to copy old instruments? They borrowed examples like this.
