I tried, it came out real crappy....

I absolutely love that bass!! I've been seriously gassin' for a Status for a while now and that bass is KILLING me.

Yes, as PSP said, it tunes from the bridge end. There has been much discussion on the 'why' for headless design, covering everything from balance to deadspots to just liking it.
Personally, I like it. Many people HATE the look. To each his own.
The Status design is very nice - all built in to the headpiece, you can use double-ball end strings (ala Steinberger - one ball goes in the top, one fits in the bridge/tuner mechanism - you turn the piece on the bridge, it turns a screw that tightens or loosens a claw that pulls the string), OR.. you can use regular ONE ball end strings - put the ball in the bridge claw part, put the other end through the headpiece/string retainer, and clamp down on it with a setscrew - you still tune the bass from the bridge end.
I've been a fan of the headless experience for many many years - owned both basses and guitars of Steinberger and Hohner design. A buncha years ago I was playing guitar with one of my bands and using a Steinberger headless model - after the 1st set, a guy from the crowd was asking one of the other band members why I was up there 'air-guitaring' along with the band, 'cuz OBVIOUSLY I was just playing a 'prop', not a REAL guitar....... LOL!!!!!
I was anti headless (because of the look only) until I saw Rhino Edwards fling his Status Charger around the stage. Then I got to hold one and was 'sold' immediately on how balanced it felt. Now I own a KingBass 4 String headless and it kicks my 63 Fender P-Bass to the curb. Sorry Leo.
The green looks awesome. Has any of the punters mouthed off about the LED's? I copped it big time and never used them again. Chicken wire doesn't stop crocodile dundee from shoving a beer bottle up ya nose.
Don't knock a headless until you have tried one and I aint talking about those nastee headless models with no body wings. Come to Oz, try mine and share the grin.
How do you tune a Status headless with a rock solid wooven graphite neck that runs the full length of the bass? Technically you dont unless you replace the strings. Mine is two years old and the tuners haven't moved a nano millimetre since it arrived in OZ from Bass Central in Florida.
