What bass does Katie play in School of Rock?

My son wants to play bass. Excellent. He wants to buy the same bass guitar that the character Katie plays in the movie "The School of Rock" (with Jack Black). Question: what bass guitar does Katie play in the battle of the bands scene near the end of the film?

I scoured the internet and could not find it, so any help would be greatly appreciated. The guitar has a hollow body, single cutaway, white pick guard, f holes and gold sunburst. Kinda Gretsch, kinda Gibson, maybe Hohner? Found lots that looked similar, but not exactly it. Here's some more film details:

"Katie (Rebecca Brown) - (Nicknamed "Posh Spice") Originally a cellist, Katie takes up the bass guitar. Despite being a core member, her character does not really have many lines because she's portrayed as a quiet girl, but eagerly takes interest in rock music."

Thanks!!

Its a nice idea, but you're going to have a very hard time finding a Star Bass and you'll have to pay much more than you probably should for a 'beginner' bass. You may wish to concentrate on one of the similar or look alike instruments that would have the look but not the rarity or price tag.

One of the indicators that a student has not grasped the basic idea of music as an activity is an obsessive concern with "look."

It is normal, and not unusual, but it does indicate a little "work needs to be done" concerning the essentials, i.e. music is about making musical sound and the ability to do so is unfolded through hours and hours and hours of hard work.

I know I sound old and grumpy, but I am only old and an experienced teacher of Rock to kids. "Look," wears off really really fast as the reality of hard work sets in.

However, getting up in front of people and pumping out basslines even once is usually enough to focus kids on the facts of the hierarchy. Music is way greater than "look."

I agree with all who say it is a Framus Star, but I think it has a replacement pickguard.

Music is more than a look, but rock is about "image," and a cool looking bass is a cool looking bass. Jim's made a decent suggestion here, but that solidbody bridge bugs me. The club bass is another good option, but no F hole. Eastwood make a club copy...
