If you bought a bass that has "honest wear" and you buy a bass that's Reliced, isn't that the same thing?

I wanna see basses like that P that the original owner is still gigging with.

Good point Nino! Hey, I did put the 1/32" chip in the upper horn last week! :p ;) . In any case, I still want to see the basses with real wear vs faux wear whether you did it or not folks. This is MY thread Nino, so step off  :D (just messin with ya bro ;) ) ! Post away people! Lets see those pics!

per Nino's request, here is mine. I'm the original owner since '03. It's an '03 Hwy 1. These are older and not as current. The bass currently has bart single coil J pickups, sadowsky pre, original bridge back on, hipshot d-tuner, hipshot tuners, and battery box on the back. More finish is missing also currently that is not represented in these pics.

'73 P with a chip from the bridge cover and by the bridge cover screwhole, a couple of chips on the edge by the controls, a ding by the forearm contour, and I think there's a scratch on it...somewhere.

Diggin the bass, but "where is the wear"? Same for the '79 P a couple posts up. Looking for chips, worn finishes, checking, dings, cigarette burns, etc. Bring on the nastiness! ;)

I pointed out where all the wear is on my '73P...Sorry, that's all it's got, but it is honest wear.

My Gibson G3. The girl I bought it from said it came in used to a music store from the original owner, and while there they tried to cover up some of the chipped off paint with sharpie. She knew someone at the store, so she ended up buying it before it hit the floor.

A little buckle rash on the back:

And some dings in the front:

But overall nothing too major.

This 67P lefty was a brand new bass when I bought it in 1972

Hash marks around the pick guard are from my punkish/new wave days in the late 70's early 80's using a heavy pick.

The rest of the wear from just knocking around a lot of clubs and bars and never thinking that it was anything more than a garden variety good bass with no value beyond that. Wish I had taken better care but who knew?

Still plays great and sounds fantastic. I keep it at home for practice, once in a while take it to a gig or jam. Comfortable like a pair of worn out sneakers.
