Here's a recent picture of my VW Monarch 4:

I like this one so much that I can't hardly bear to play any of my other instruments.

I've had my first experience with the newer, tuned Fodera....and things are certainly for the better! I was having a fret issue, as well as some cosmetic requests....and was holding off for a couple years because of no gaurantee when I would see my bass again! Well....Jason assured me it would be no longer than 4 weeks in the shop, and they came in a week early! Some serious fret re-setting, level and polish, replaced bridge, matching dual coil covers - truss cover - and back plate, updated my already new version of the pope preamp, and the absolute lowest action EVER! I couldn't have asked for better service, better communication, or a better job! Thanks again!

I'll get some updated pics, but here she is before she left the shop....

Aloha, Garey

Man, that thing is gorgeous!!!!

Of the Foderas that I own, these are the two most important to me...

The Koa topped one that Joey is holding is the first Fodera that I purchased. Ordered in 2004 and delivered in 2007 with a nut height that was too high for my playing style. Had that nut been lower, I never would have visited the shop and might have never met Joey and Vinny!

The Buckeye topped one was completed last year around this time and I was in the shop weekly doing research on a book about Fodera (which hopefully I will finish someday) as it was being built. I got to watch this bass being brought to life over four months as Joey, Vinny and I started moving what was already a great friendship towards discussions about what has become a partnership. While Vinny was carving the neck on this Monarch I asked him and Joey an interview question for the book that started the whole discussion a few months down the road about our partnership...

"What happens to Fodera when you and Joey decide that you either no longer want to, or cannot, continue building instruments?"

BTW, in case you haven't already guessed, I am the guy in the middle of the photo...
