A couple of Lakland JO5 mod questions

Does anyone know if the control plate for a Skyline JO5 is a standard Fender-style size?

If it is a standard size, does anyone know where to get a custom control plate with a hole for a mini 3PDT switch??

What I'm specifically looking to do is change the controls to a Master/Blend/Tone setup with a series/parallel option controlled by the 3PDT switch.

AFAIK, it is the same as a Fender standard control plate. I'm having an Audere pre put into my bass and it is fitted onto a standard Fender Jazz style control plate.

You could use a push-pull pot and keep the original control plate. No change visually, if that matters to you.

I just got a plate for a Fender Reggie Hamilton Jazz so I could add a coil splitter on my Curbow Jazz. It's got an extra hole for a switch. Bought it off of Ebay, but Bass Parts Resource also has them ( Link Removed ).

That was my first idea, but apparently the push/pull doesn't work with a Master/Blend setup. The only option for series/parallel with a Master/Blend setup seems to be a 3PDT switch.

I have that exact setup (M/B/T with the Master being push/pull - series/parallel) on two basses so I know it works.

I wouldn't exactly call this the final answer, but I think it will work, with a couple caveats: 1) In series mode, both the blend and the volume will act as a volume. and 2) you may need to experiment with pot values to get it to sound quite right.

But, here's how I'd try it:

It does seem like it would be better to have a switch with more poles so you could remove the blend from the circuit when in series mode...

If I threw this together right, the 3pdt does seem to remove the problem of the blend acting as a second volume. I'd be tempted to use 500k pots if I were doing this:
