I recently picked up an Akai UB-1, and since I had trouble finding clips of it before I got it I thought I'd make some for anyone else who's thinking of getting one. It's recorded direct into my PC, using an MIM classic 70's J. Unfortunately there's quite a bit of hiss. The effect tone level on the UB-1 is fully on, and the noise gate thresold at minimum.
First is the clean tone, then I go through the octave up with the distortion at minimum, gradually increasing the effect output level. Next I turn up the distortion level in stages. Then I play with the upper 5th added, and then with the lower 4th.
Finally I use the effect output to get the octave up soloed, and go a bit mental. Apologies for the poor sound and sloppy playing! If anyone wants any specific clips, let me know.

Major 6th not dominant 7... so in the key you're playing it... change the G to an F#
