60'-61' Jazz wiring harness, anyone use this?

the only reason to buy actual old pots and jacks is to restore an old instrument. old pickups may have the magic, but old wiring harnesses are just old.

if you want a certain sound, just get new pots of the same spec.

That's why I'm interested in this. It is in fact brand new ..... pots, jack, wires, etc.. The capacitors are also new reproductions of the originals.

that's a reasonable price for a completely prewired stack setup.

might want to ask seller about pot values, as original pots were 250K/250K, while modern CTS stack pots are 250K/500K(tone),
but can be modified to 250K/250K.

would also be interesting to inquire as to how seller makes his caps.
some guys (gil yaron) roll their own, while other guys (Luxe) create
a 'replica' look-alike cap using a Vitamin Q cap hidden inside.

2 cents.

I'll ask the seller what values the pots are.... I'm leaning on picking one of these up.

OK..... I just received a reply from the guy that makes these Jazz control plates and he said he can do the 250/250k pot set up. So, having this information has anyone here ever played a Jazz bass with this set up? Maybe someone has a real 1960 Jazz that has an original pots like this.... if so how does the overall tone compare to the 250/500k set up?

i'd think you'd want the 500k tones, since you have two of them instead of the normal one. otherwise the bass will be darker than a standard set-up. 2 500ks in parallel sounds like a 250k.

(if you want it to be darker, you can always just turn the 500k tones down a little. you can't turn the 250ks "up" to 500k.)

UPDATE: I received the new Jazz stacked knob control plate that I posted the link for my OP. I went ahead and went with the 250/500k set up and along with it I also installed the new Aguilar AG 5J-60 pups in my Lakland Skyline JO 5 string. All I can say is I finally hear (and feel) the vintage sound of a Jazz Bass that I have had in my head ever since hearing a playing a real 61' Jazz a long time back.
I have had a few Jazz Basses in the past and have always sold them off. I always felt that no matter what or who's Jazz bass I played that it was set up and geared towards slap type tone... brittle, harsh with little or no warmth. Now I have a Jazz that I will always be looking forward to playing.
