Old Demeter VTBP 201 DBL

I have one I got a few years back on a trade for a broken Trace V4. This one looks really old, almost like a first run.

Check out the DI on the back with labels from an old punch label maker! The silkscreen font on the front is more plain and looks different from any of the 1.5 space Dems I have seen. Also there is a "2" written in black marker between the outputs. Could this be an original? Anyone ever see one like it?

Nah I was just kidding about it being a fake. Controversy tends to garner more attention.:D

So do you use yours much? I need to get into some recording to find a good use for it. I guess it's a good thing to have in case a need ever arises. I had a new VTBP-201s that was nice but I was getting into all tube amps instead of the pre/power rack stuff so I sold it off years ago.

I have been thinking about contacting Demeter to see if I can get more info on this one. It really looks like a prototype or a first run.

Does anyone know if the Demeter direct box is the same circuit as the preamp DI without the eq and 1/4 outs?

Yup thats an old 1.5 space. I thought the eq on the 201s I had was fairly effective for passive eq.

Wait a sec Mal... did I trade my 201s to you for your Ampeg V-4B? Either that or I sold it to fund the V-4B I bought from you. Can't quite remember.
