Up for sale is a single cut MG 5 bass.


This bass was done a while ago everything is hand made from start to finish. It is a 34-inch scale with John East preamp universal preamp, Aguilar super double pups, and lastly it is routed to be able to do single series parallel however it is not wired now. The body is a mahogany body with a flame maple top, neck is Maple, and an ebony fretboard with gold frets to round it out. Gold hipshot bridge and tuners along with custom wood knobs finish out this magnificent bass. There has been some wear on this bass, and it isn’t name brand, so I am asking $800 dollars which includes shipping for this beautiful piece. My shipping budget is up to $100 so if it is anything more than that we can negotiate.

Wow, this is kind of a crazy deal. I think the electronics and hardware alone come out to close to the asking price. Can I ask what the string spacing and nut width are?

So.. I'm the lucky buyer of this bass... drove up there to pick it up today.

For all the people that are curious - it plays and feels a lot like any Benevente I have ever owned, maybe slightly better?

The fit and finish is awesome. Tonally, it's very warm and rich. The feel is right. 20 minutes into playing it, and I would say I like it as much as my US MTD, Marleaux, and Fodera.

I would have paid $2500 for this and thought I got a deal...

It had some issues that I had to work through. The B string sounded weak, so I took it to my luthier. It looked like it had 4 string pickups under the pickup cover. I spent an additional $250 buying pickups and getting them installed.

Now, it sounds incredible!
