1962 Fender Jazz Bass Sonic Blue (refin)
This August 1962 neck date Jazz Bass has seen some action. Marks of countless playing hours usually indicate a great playing and sounding instrument and it is definitely true for this one. Albeit this being a keeper, I splurged and bought another 1962 veneer Jazz Bass, so it has to go into new hands.
Will be posted on reverb within two weeks if not sold here.

- Alder body, Sonic Blue refin and aging
- Astonishing Brazilian Rosewood veneer fingerboard
- Neck profile is leaner than any other 1962J I've played. It is closer to the slimness of a 1960 Jazz Bass neck.
- Period correct refret and bone nut. Both meticulously executed by renowned luthier Werner Sahli.
- Hairline crack at the back of the headstock. Doesn't affect playability. The bass stays in tune for whole sets during gigs.
- Incredible feel all over the neck with low action.
- Original Neck Pickup
- Bridge pickup is a period-correct black bottom Fender pre CBS pickup
- After Market Gotoh GBR640 4L N Bass Tuners are installed. They are much lighter and more precise than the original Fender tuners. The originals are included in the sale (see pics).
- Custom made pickguard by Mark Townsend of Spitfire Pickguards
- Weight is 8.4 lbs / 3.8 kg.
- Truss rod is in good working condition and neck is non-twisted and straight.
- Non-original hard shell SKB case.
