Specifications from Ken Lawrence:

I call this my “Chamberbass” (no mention of or inspiration by Whales. The extended string anchor/tailpiece was originally inspired by one of the first Carl Thompson 6 string basses. way back….)
top/headcap: Quilted Fir
body: Alder w/Mahogany wings
neck: Eastern Hard Maple
fretboard: Birdseye Maple w/Ebony blocks and bindings (+ Fiber-Optic/Mother of Pearl side position markers. single LED located in electronics cavity)
the original pickups were Nordstrand split J in Ebony covers. If they were changed to Kent Armstrong.
Pope pre-amp w/Bartolini buffer for the RMC Piezos in the Ebony bridge (bridge has bolts from the back of the body to “lock” it in with the body (direct coupling) I did print up instructions for adjusting that if you need it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers and all the best,
Ken

34” Scale
18 mm String Spacing
Nordstrand Pickups

From reasons that I still don't know, I end it up with this very beautiful and amazing custom shop, Ken Lawrence Bass.

For those who know KL basses already know what I'm talking about, the combination of *Mike Pope preamp, with Ken Armstrong pickups plus the Piezzo gives a massive tonality*

His basses hold hi value, you may have to wait few years so that Mr, Lawrence builds you one of his basses.

This bass is in almost pristine condition.

I believe it is walnut at the back with a Maple Tone Block, Fingerboard is a Birds Eye Maple, not certain about the Top. Super Thumpy, the neck is super comfortable.
Thank you. How old is it? What kind of case does it come with? Are the inlays wood? I think he calls these Chamber basses doesn't he? (I think whale tail is Carl Thompson) I'm interested.

Indeed it is a chambered body, inlays are ebony to match the whale tail. It comes with a Gig bag. Thanks for the interest.

The top is Quilted Fir. Ken made a Chamberbrase II with nearly identical specs as yours around thirteen years ago. I had a Chamberbrase II custom ordered in 2014 one of the best sounding basses I ever had ,I ended up trading it because I couldn’t gel with the 33 scale and the extra long “brase upper horn” brought the neck so close to the body, very comfortable but so used to the extra stretch of other basses.
This KL is stunning GLWTS!!!
