1968-69 Sound city MK3 that's been modified to true Hiwatt SAP circuit. Original partridge transformers, mustard and sozo caps, new-ish mullard EL34's. Master volume knob added in order to make room for the input gain Knob.
This SAP circuit was based on the rare '69 protype 200 watt SAP. It was installed by one of Portland's finest amp techs, Matt Dawson.
Awesome sounding amp and in good working order. The gain structure is a little more akin to vintage Marshall. A little dirtier than the DR103 circuits when the input volume is turned up. IMO the trade-off is that it sounds better at quieter levels. For more headroom just back that off to taste.
This is a great opportunity to get real deal vintage hiwatt parts and tones for less than 1/2 the price.
Quite a bit of scuffs, also missing the rear panel.
Price reduced to $1500 shipped
