I realized I took the patch cable out from the effects loop as it was there when I bought the amp and remembered why after reading up on it; it helps with the poopy effects loop jacks that can fail and cause the intermittent signal. I will look into these suggestions. Thanks!

What bass sounds best with some overdrive for a grindy bass tone? For heavier rock/ noise/ punk.

My Deluxe 4 has passive pickups with active preamp. I want to change the pickups: Would you keep the stock schecter preamp or remove it for something else? It has a blend control for the pickups, master volume, and a treble and bass boost/cut.

How does it sound/compare to other basses? I have a deluxe 4 diamond series and interested in something else.
