I used a Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails SVR-1N Pickup. It's not a bad choice, but is a little brighter than my ideal.

Well, at least the Bronco is lighter. If you are willing to spend some time on fretwork and rolling the edges, it feels less like a toy. The tuning machines are garbage, but you can pick up some licensed ultralites around $75.

I prefer 5s (see avatar). But they're heavier. I'm older. $s are lighter. Built this parts bass, functionally like my avatar, but 1.5 pounds lighter. No regrets.
