If you've been together 30 years(!) why haven't your figured this out yet? If you want to play those places, it might help if you're a member of those places....or networked with people that are in those places. Networked with event planners, etc as well. Follow your local facebook pages...

So, say a 16 track tape original is mixed....is it then mastered as a 16 track tape or as a two track tape master? I thought once you got to the "master" you couldn't really mess with the individual elements any longer. BUT, my experience is DIY equipment.

I'd hear tales of "unnamed" studio guys coming in to fix "known" or "emerging" musician's work after hours. This (which I've also heard of in the modern age) is really interesting because I've actually hear this song.

Thanks. When you mentioned manually riding faders, I would guess that each time you'd have to do this every time you rewound the tape and wanted to listen to it again while adding a new track.

The IRS "boogieman" is far worse in myth than in reality. Many returns never get audited and very few are touched by human hands. The industry creates some of the myth in order to drive up business.

Where do you live? I live in the suburbs of DC. If I didn't drive to places, I wouldn't do anything. It seems any trip anywhere is at least 20 min. I see not driving far often on TB. After a while, in some locales, you have to know everyone, right? I'm curious how far people go. #7...
