    Should I put a guitar pickup on my Bass

    You could probably do it, rail-style pickups usually work better than with polepieces but you don't need a guitar pickup to get a little dirt. I think an overdrive pedal might be more of what you're after.

    Squier vs Ibanez (budget bass)

    I love my Squier VM Jazz. Comfy neck, and I can vet the action nice and low unlike my cheap ass Ibanez Gio.
