Yes the SVT is tubed pre-amp with 5 tubes. I was just wondering because 4 are the AX7s and the other is an unknown because I can't read it( an AR maybe). Thanks for the input!

Question for anyone who knows these amps. I opened the top and turned the power on to see what kind of glow I get and how long it takes to warm up. It takes about 15 seconds to get a warm glow out of the 12AX7's but my main concern is on the initial power up. The one tube that's not an AX7 gets...

I've always used black beauties for strings and never had an issue on 35" necks, but thanks for the heads up....that's not something I would have considered!

After playing bass for 3 years, and in the last year with 2 bands simultaneously, I'm dropping the cash on my first brand new bass! Currently I'm using an Esp Ltd F-104 and B-105....both purchased used. Time to trade in the B-105 towards either a F-5E or an F-415. I'm leaning towards the 415...

I got this amp to use as a backup for shows but no longer need it. Been out of the box once to plug it in, test it, and set the mixers to my level....then back into the box it went where it's been sitting for a few months. Absoloutly brand new and I'm throwing in a new speakon cable with it...

I have an 05 Hyundai accent hatchback....and I can fit my ampeg 8x10 cab, head, 2 basses and pedalboard with all cables in it. it's a tight fit, but does the trick. I will admit in about 10 years from now I really wont want to be loading that fridge up in a hatchback.

An Ampeg Svt Pro-3. The older generation from early to mid 90's. It's got enough juice to push the 8x10 nicely.

took some tweaking on the eq and playing withthe gain and volume....but man.....totally dig it!

I love the pro 3. i'm betting this is all going to be a matter of personal choice however since both kick serious nuts.
