Just put a set on my P last week, the 45-100's. Wonderful. They replaced a set of 45-100 rounds. The funny thing is that NO trussrod adjustment was required - except for the TI flats I have had on some of my basses in the past, I have always had to at least "tweak" the action a bit for flats...

I saw RTF back in '74 or '75 I think, it was the romantic warrior tour. If I am remembering correctly, stanly's rig looked just like that. What a band that was - we will never see anything like that again.

Yep, you did mention that, my bad. ;-) As i have an urge 2, the controls are as issued for that bass, volume, blend, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut, mids, and a 3 way pickup selector switch. Gives you J's only, P only, or all.

Well, if your budget is $600, you could get a MIM Deluxe active P-bass special. Nice jazz neck, active, PJ pickups, sounds good right out of the box. About as close as you can get for $600~ It even looks nice too, once you replace that horrible pickguard. ;-)
