I'm looking at a Marcus 4, built in '85 or '86. Were these good years as far as craftsmanship, or are the CIJ or the newer MIM better? Any quality problems with the early models? Differences in neck profile, pre, ect.
Just wondering. I've seen pics of the Marcus, some with the MIJ, and some with CIJ, and a few with neither on the heel of the neck. Does anybody know why some would have nothing written on them?
Just got it. Read thru manual, and adjusted the expression pedal to kick up the volume. When I unplug my Bass and go straight thru, Bass to amp, my usual LOUD volume. I've adjusted every volume ( effect, pedal, ect) and even re-iniatialized the unit, but I'm just getting NO volume with this...
Just listen to just about ANY Marcus Miller tune...especially when he's 'Thumpin'" behind a vocalist, or during a Sax or keys solo. He definitely knows how to vamp, play for the song, and make you notice his great Thumpin' and poppin' technique.
Órale phillybass101!
You know, it might seem trivial in the grand scope of thing's, but it's one of those things that irk's me... guess I'm showin' my age :hmm: Thank you for keepin' it alive, and doing your part to pass it on!
Probably when Flea came on the scene, or 'Rap-rock' was in vogue did the term 'slapping' become the term. It was always 'Thumpin' and yes JAUQO, 'Pluckin!'
