Thank you all so much for the replies. I actually like the sound of the DI into the interface. I got the amp in mint condition for $400 so it was hard not to pass up. definitely has more deep low end than the plugin. But the plugin sounds real good. It also sounds better than my PF500 recorded...

Do you think it’s too much power for recording. My guitar amps like to be loud to get the right tone. So the tubes are being pushed. Is the solid state power amp in the Ampeg different?

Update...... today I pulled the trigger on a brand new Fender Professional P Bass. I got the Sunburst with rosewood board. I just felt I liked it better than the performer model and the Ultra even though they had the J pickup I kind of wanted. I figure my stingray can get me close to that tone...

That’s too funny! I had one and liked it. I’m Definitely a Gibson guy. May get a EB-0 one day because I love the bass on the first Boston record.

They do sound good! Definitely has more treble. As suggested I am going to keep my Sterling as a different tone. It plays great.

Thank you! I have some UA Ampeg plug ins that sound great. I plan to get an SVT pro 2:or something as well. Right now I have a PF500 that sounds decent.

Thank you! Agree on keeping the Sterling. It actually sounds really good believe it or not. I’ll check out a G&L. And since I don’t want to go crazy money wise I was liking the American Performer.
