    I never had trouble with dying strings! I have boiled my roundwound strings many many times. For the last 10 years I put them in the dishwasher, that is the most practical way to clean the strings!

    I used to boil my bass strings after I read about it. I have a few sets of strings and every few months I change them. But nowadays I put my strings in the dishwasher together with the other dishes and this also works very well! I never have to buy bass strings.
