    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

Agreed! I’m really not a fan of that diy epoxy driftwood table look in blue or greenish colors over different semi interesting top woods.

    Yeah, another headphone amp question...

I can highly recommend Slow gear electronics headphone pedal. Compared to the headphone out on my “home” amp, it is way way better sounding. A lot more true the the actual instrument I plug in, which is nice, when having a lot of different basses. My amps headphone out masked the subtleties of...

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

Noticed some new models just put up. A new talman 5 string. And a cool looking red burst 4 string talman. I’m crossing my fingers for some more models to be released.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

The argument pointing out how few people actually play a, let’s say, 5 string medium scale bass, and therefore the market doesn’t value these type of basses, is a flawed argument. There’s a reason I don’t play one, it’s because there either isn’t one or because the options for one is too limited...

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

I actually missed that one. It would have fit the bill if it wasn’t headless and weird looking. Maybe I’m asking for too much.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

I get what you’re saying. But at the same time Ibanez shouldn’t underestimate forums. I’ve witnessed quite a few brands. Especially in the amp/pedal department that gets way too much hype than their products can bare. But it makes these bands profitable. Don’t underestimate hype in the...

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

If you’re referring to my comment, I wasn’t comparing. My point was to make niche options like short and medium scale 5 string accessible to people who wants a medium priced instrument.

But they do, they are exactly the type of company I would expect to make these things hence my disappointment. They make weird hybrid fretless fretted basses.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

Maybe it’s not something that appeals to you, but you can’t deny that it would be a variation instead of more of the same, like the majority of the sound gear line.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

I’m seriously considering it. As I see it, it would be easy money keeping a sharp eye at the various bass forums and making models based on what niches players are asking for. Main obstacle is getting efficient production set up. That’s where a giant like Ibanez will have an advantage, and for...

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

That would be great. They have a great catalog of previous lines.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

As I recall pretty expensive. Not liking the looks. But yeah, I think that’s the only option in the whole bass market for this configuration. That ridiculously conservative

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

The TMB35 is an entry level instrument with questionable consistency in built quality. Make me a made en Japan 32 scale 5 string tmb.

    Ibanez 2024 release disappointing

The BTB as I see it appeal to metal players with their aggressive horns and “modern” looks. Not the same segment that plays e-c Chordal stuff. Seems to be a mistake to make short or medium scale variations on that model.

We really can’t know for sure unless they try.
