    Fender bid gets knocked down!

I was getting a bit too deep there! What I'm saying in a nutshell is that Fender were trying to look after their global interests. I don't think they have much interest in small guitar makers. All big companies make their biggest profits from their cheapest products & that's where the far east...

    Fender bid gets knocked down!

That's true, but the "West" has only recently started to wake up to just what a threat the far east posses to the to Western companies & economies. 40 years ago the UK had one of the World's biggest car industries. Today it doesn't exist. Things are changing fast & it wasn't just Fender who were...

    Fender bid gets knocked down!

The way I see it - this isn't just an issue for Fender, but with China & the Far East offering cheaper versions of anything & everything, with little concern for trade marks or copyright, it's an issue for every American brand, as well as every Western product. Big companies don't just make...

Well it's interesting Jim - he's been selling the whole guitar on ebay! Alot of the guys on there are pulling classic guitars to pieces & selling the parts & they make more money that way. Does this pickguard look genuine?

Jim C - got any pictures of your 70's JB? I know what you mean about the white being bright, but if you look at the picture again you can see the flash of the camera reflected in the body, which is bright white even on the black part of the body.

    Does this pickguard look genuine?

Thanks guys & Caca de Kick - very usefull info. & the picture of your amazing 69 seems to bear out my pickguards authenticity, as it's a very similar pattern & roughly the same era. The early 60's tort pickguards seem to have a less busy pattern I think - less detailed? Yeah it's alot of money...

Fender Jazz Bass 1973 - Neck Stamp?

coreyfyfe - That's what I think (or hope anyway) why would you fake with a very obvious typo? I haven't actually got the neck yet, so I can't physically measure it, but to me the nut looks like a regular Jazz neck. I've attached the other pictures, Here's what the guy said in the description...

Fender Jazz Bass 1973 - Neck Stamp?

Hi - I just bought this 1973 Jazz Bass neck on ebay - it's bound with pearl block inlays. It's got a "B" (7Mar73B) stamp on the heel, which I've never seen before - it's usually "A" on a Jazz Bass neck isn't it? Can any of you experts shed any light on this for me. Did Fender make Jazz Bass...
