    Gretsch Junior Jet review

My backup set on my Mikro are too short I’ll have to wait for new ones to change. I do notice more fret buzz than the Mikro so I’ll need to work on that…

    Gretsch Junior Jet review

I just bought the Gretsch Junior Jet, the only short scale I could find in Panama. I’ve been playing an Ibanez Mikro for a little over a year with upgraded pickups but this Gretsch feels like it’s well constructed. I haven’t even gotten it home yet but what are the stock strings? It says 40-95...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

Sorry I was referring to the comment about removing the neck not the bridge. Well I haven’t don’t either. I don’t see any issues with the bridge, seems to function as it’s supposed to. I find the big difference with the new pickups is being able to try different levels and finding some different...

I was able to raise the screws the J is 1/8 inch or so the ps are a little more but one screw is a little stripped so it needs some work to get it moved. So far so good Interesting about the bridge. I’ve never removed mine. Bought it last April

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

Update. So I finally put in the Seymour Duncan pickups. I put in new pots as well. Fortunately a friend of mine had done this stuff before and is good with solder. Here’s my issue, the strings are now too far from the pickups. I can’t loosen them enough without taking the screws out. Perhaps I...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

a friend of mine in another band was recommended to help me out . He has done a lot of stuff like this on guitars so I’m going to bring it over to him. If I had understood the difference I would have looked at different pickups . I almost exchanged them but I’m out of the country so it was too...

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

I purchased the Seymour Duncan 1/4 pound pick ups. A little nervous about doing the soldering. I don’t have close access to guitar tech/luthier so we’ll see what happens.

Now I regret my color choice after seeing the black. I have root beer.

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

Thanks for the info I've had mine 6 months almost and haven't changed anything yet. Now that I can play a little I'm interested in some changes. We had our first gig Thursday and it as fun. Just put on Ernie Ball Slinkys, a big improvement from the originals that came with it.

awesome thanks for the feedback. I liked practicing with slightly raised so it’s a start. I need to look at string height above pickups as well .

ah ok! That sounds familiar. I wouldn’t have thrown it out. I’ll have a look. Thanks update - my computer screwdriver kit had the exact thing I needed raised it slightly and I like the sound and feel. One video I watched said to have them 4/32 to 3/32 high so I used that as a guide.

will do. At the moment I don’t have the right tool (looks like a tiny Allen key) to adjust it. I’ll ask my guitar friends tonight as I know they talked about this type of stuff.

"Official" Mikro Bass Club Part 3

So after almost 2 weeks with the Epiphone SG rental I find a huge difference coming back to the Mikro. My teacher says the action on the SG must have been much higher based on my description of playing. However I think raising the action slightly on the Mikro might be warranted. Is it...
