    I live in the Vancouver area. I would like to get a really REALLY good stool for my bass. Particularly the kind that you would see bassists using in professional symphony orchestras.     Double Bass What's louder, the cello or the double bass?

    I'm talking about a standard symphony orchestra. Is it the same deal with the violins? Because it's higher pitched, you can hear it more? Is the cello louder than the double bass?
