If you can get this head working...it's not crazy loud, but has a really great tone... I bought one for same price in the 90's, used it for a long time...not loud enough to keep up with full guitar stacks, but awesome tone for recording or quieter gigs...it's got the vintage ampeg tone in spades

I just bought a used TB500. This thing is incredible. Mind you it only does one thing really, but it happens to be exactly what our band needs... But the size, tone and volume it puts out just blows me away... I've heard of reliability issues, but condisering how much this thing kicks ass it's...

Looking a little closer today I noticed that of the 4 7027 inside now, one is a sylvania, and the other 3 only have "7027" with no company name... All the matches quad NOS sells I'm seeing are between 300$ and 400$z

Will definitely go NOS for all preamp ones... But around 300$ for a matched quad of 7027 is hard to swallow... I'm Finding matched pairs at decent prices, is putting two pairs of matched pairs a big issue? Is it the fact that two of tubes will work harder than the other two if not matched?

Wouldn't throw out the old, but got to have a full replacement set, will be gigging with this amp, especially the power tubes..

Hmmm Not sure which way to go then! Drilling indents to get em flush would be my preference, but since the nubs are oddly shaped id need to drill pretty wide holes.... Thoughts or preferences on either option?

This may be a stupid question, but I've never installed these particular tuners before.. Received some gotoh vintage tuners, have drilled pilot holes, but noticed that the tuners have two sets of metal parts on flat side that mates with headstock, they prevent the tuner from being completely...
