    I gigged my little bastard tonight. With the highly efficient Eden Cabinet and a good PA and sound engineer it was loud enough over a drummer and guitarist, and sounded fabulous fantastic. Plenty of positive comments from other musos and the sound guy was happy too.

    Older Schecter Model T Bass

    I have a Schecter Model T from about 2008. Mine has seymour duncan pickups. It is a good solid instrument. Great deep tone, well balanced, holds it's tune. I would absolutely recommend these. Second-hand, for the moneyvit would be hard to beat as a classic passive bass.

    Yes, people are flexible. However, we are also built a certain way which means that some shapes / postures are more mechanically efficient than others. Changing your technique to accommodate a poorly set up instrument is a recipe for overuse injury and pain.

    I think looking the part is part of putting on the show. I have a black p bass which just kinda blends in to every situation. I also have a Silverburst with an extremely high eye-candy factor. I can use either in most situations to different effect.

    Yeah, the Pyramids are sold out, which seems to be the same for just about every other Nickel alloy string in NZ :(

    Hi all. What are some alternatives to rotosound ultramags? I'm having trouble finding them in New Zealand so maybe its time I tried something else. I am looking for nickel alloy strings, not nickel plated. Any suggestions appreciated.

    I can't get 45s here in Christchurch at the moment. So I put a set of 40s on. Bad move! Completely messed up my action and intonation!

    I'm going to suggest that the bridge has a relatively modest effect on the tone unless you go to really old school retro. A good bridge will, however, improve your stability and intonation which makes the whole playing experience better IMHO.

    If you like skinny necks then I'm going to recommend you try an Ibanez SR. They come at different levels of fit out but generally represent good bang for buck.
