Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

Is the Mustang still from Squier? 7lbs 6oz, so much ligher! Enjoy it!

Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

Hi Eric, All the reasons that you listed above (minus the weight) are what makes this bass unique and why I bought this bass LOL. In general, I like to play above the bridge pickup (both fingerstyle and with a plectrum) and with other basses I have to flare my elbow in order to do that, but not...

Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

I don't prefer high mass bridges and your suggestions are very much appreciated. I want to keep the string-thru-body feature and I only found the aforementioned bridges to have that feature, otherwise I would consider any other type of bridge.

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking the Badass would be better for palm muting as the strings are more exposed, unlike on the Hipshot. Just my thought, I have no experience with the Hipshots.

And what do you think about the Badass? Do you think it suits the Rascal vibe more?

That's something to keep in mind. This is how it looks like. And yes, the original bridge is huge, whereas the Hipshot and the Badass are the same size as the humbuckers. I feel like it would have more balanced esthetics with such a bridge.

Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

It is true, the Rascal is as long as a 34" scale bass. In any case, I want to keep the Rascal a 30" scale bass and keep the pickups in the original position. I want to be able to revert back to the original form factor should I wish to do so in the future. I think that what makes the Rascal...

I dig It! It has the same dimensions of the B style bridge, but I like the A style more! Thank you!

Oh yes, that's a nice bridge but it has 4 holes rather than 3. Cheers

The rascal has a 19mm string spacing. Good point regarding the neck width, I didn't consider that. Thank you very much!

Thank you for pointing that out. I went through the thread but, although someone installed a regular Fender bridge, I wasn't able to find any infos regarding a string-thru-body alternative. Cheers

Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

Hello everybody, I was wondering, has anyone replaced the Mustang-style bass bridge on a Squier Rascal with a "regular" bridge? I found two models that might be compatible with the original bridge holes: the Badass Bass III and the B Style Fender Mount 2. Has anyone had any luck with these? If...

    Nathan East's MTV Unplugged Bass

Hello guys, recently I came across a YouTube Short of Nathan East showing the bass he used on Clapton's Unplugged. https://youtube.com/shorts/7sgKc_duJQ0?si=iei1-1wVYrHgnjdx Now I'm puzzled, because the bass in the Short is a Guild with a cutaway, whereas in the MTV Uplugged it seems a "whole"...
