Squier Rascal: from Mustang to "Regular" Bridge and More

I took delivery today of a Paranormal and unfortunately I was packing it back up an hour later. I dug
everything about it except for the weight, 10.1 lbs, and ergonomics.
My Lakland USA 55-94 is a pound lighter and my Fender Jazz bass
is 1.5 lbs lighter. My goal was to ease the load, but this bass didn't do it.

The very weird mashup of the short neck, full size body, and strange bridge placement, made for
an uncomfortable position to get my right hand centered between pu's. It's just off for me, sitting or standing.

Too bad, it's a beautiful bass sonically and visually.

Hi Eric,
All the reasons that you listed above (minus the weight) are what makes this bass unique and why I bought this bass LOL.

In general, I like to play above the bridge pickup (both fingerstyle and with a plectrum) and with other basses I have to flare my elbow in order to do that, but not with the Rascal.

I think it's really my ideal bass, especially once I move the volume knob out of the way for palm muting. I'm working on that and I will post a picture once I'm done.

I understand the weight can be a deal breaker. I solved the weight issue thanks to the Neotech Mega Strap. Have you tried that? IMHO is the ultimate strap.

Cheers
