    Tube amp comparison

I'm running through a '92 GK800rb, 410rbh, and 115rbh. Only pedals I run are a Darkglass B3k, and a TC Electronics chorus. Not a big effects guy. I am in a original band, so we do gig and record. I was considering a tube amp for that tube amp distortion sound. The Darkglass pedal is a...

    Tube amp comparison

Hey guys, I'm interested in possibly buying a tube amp. My interests are the Orange AD 200B, Ampeg SVT, or Fender Super Bassman. What's your opinions on any of these amps? Pros/cons? What style of these amps are best used for? I don't have experience with tube amps so just seeing what...

    GK 800RB biamp cable question

I'll test this option next time I head to our practice space, which should be tomorrow. I know I've had all three cabs plugged in at the same time in full range, and noticed the 115 wasn't as loud. Obviously, do to mixing cabs. This raises my next question. Would any damage occur is have I...

    GK 800RB biamp cable question

Oh yeah. Sorry, forgot mention all cabs are 8 ohms. I tried that, and the volume to me just felt off. Is that just because the 410 is 800 watts, and the 115 is only 400 watts? Or would the biamp help me balance this out? I did a couple volume tests. I plugged both 410s in full range and it...

    GK 800RB biamp cable question

Hey guys, So I recently purchased a GK800rb, and absolutely love it. I own two 410 rbh cabinets, and one 115rbh cab. Now I've heard/read all the information of mixing speaker sizes, which is why I want to try biamping if I choose to have the 115 in my rig. If not, I'll just run the two...

80's MIJ Fender Jazz Special - Legit??

I own two original Jazz Specials. The owner purchased an original Jazz Special neck and placed it on a Precision body, so this not a true Jazz Special. Real Jazz Specials are a PJ configuration, with no pickguard, V-V-T pots (the tone pot is Fender's TBX circuit), and a three way pickup...

    Help identify these EMG pickups

Hey guys, So I'm looking for someone identifying the model of these pickups, in hopes to sell them after. Please help! Little background. I bought a PJ bass with these installed and converted it back to a passive bass. I don't know anything about these pickups, and I'm showing all the internal...

    GK rails in a pedal?

This might be an odd question, but I've always wondered if the volume coming from the bass itself has an impact on hitting the rails? I have a PJ configuration and have the neck pickup maxed and the bridge pickup at about 6. I have to keep my 700rb-II at about 9 oclock, so I'm not blowing ear...

Which Seymour Duncan's to go with?

Sounding like the SPB-1 is winning

Which Seymour Duncan's to go with?

EDIT: Sorry I have the SD STK-J2 hot stack jazz pickup. So, now would just switching the bridge pickup with the SPB-1 work, or the whole SPB-3 PJ pickup set work better for this tone?

Which Seymour Duncan's to go with?

Well isn't the bass sound in the video really bright and aggressive? That's why I thought the SPB-3 would be a good choice. Also, if i did go with the SPB-3 Id get the matching jazz pickup with it.
