    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Something to bear in mind is this... If the song is written with the bass line / riff being one of the main things / sounds of the track, then you work around that sound generally. If the bass isn't the main feature and is more of a support, which I guess is generally the case, then it's...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

So how do people go about getting their own sound these days? I'm aware that your sound essentially comes from your hands / fingers / personality, but to me part of developing your own sound is your amp set up, pedal board set up, etc. Jimmy Hendrix wouldn't have sounded half as cool was it...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Thanks, thats a very helpful response. And you're completely right about the power issue. These speakers need to be properly supported. Crowns are excellent. My Power amp is 2k at 2ohm and at 8 is 800 which should be plenty to have a hold of the cab. Interesting that they sound the same when...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

I completely agree. Using the various waves plug ins you can get a good sound, but it always has something missing... How do you find the 410he cab for low end... I'm trying to create and record recordings that are bass driven... Distorted, angry, in your face, knock you out bass sounds. Is the...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

It's mostly for recording individually, but I really like the tone of some of the bigger amps. The best sound I've hear to my ears came from a 70's classic and an 8x10... I would like a similar sound, but something more reliable... hence the alembic preamp and separate power amp. Sure, it' not...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

They're for chinese man 414's... which definitely don't sound as good as the originals! You can get a 70's 441 for around £300 here. A 70's c414 is around £1200! :S

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Anyone tried a Hartke VX1508 cab before? Better than an ampeg 410he for low end punch? Completely subjective I know but if someone's tried one or both, would like to hear your thoughts...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

And out of the combo of the 210 and 115 compared with the 410 you have, which has the most bottom end / punch?

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

I would like a pair of those as overheads / piano and for cabs but they're even more cash than the 441... especially the vintage ones!

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

OKay great. Have you ever compared it to 2 x 10's and 1x15... This is another possibility I'm thinking of exploring... Have you ever tried the Hartke VX1508? I've seen one for less than £100 but never heard anything about them... Perhaps there's a good reason for that...

Also, anyone get any experience of the Hartke VX1508 bass cabinet? 2 x 8 and 1 x 15...

Is this a splitter signal so you can D.I. and go into the amp at the same time?

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Is there much difference between the 210 and the 410 in the low end... particularly if I am using it to record? I want to add flavour to the recordings. Also, would it be a problem using such a powerful amp alongside the 210? It's a 2kw peavy power amp I'm using!

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Thanks for this. Thats very interesting that you got on with neither. I've read that as a stand alone cab, the 410he doesn't have much bottom end. The only reason I am considering it is because I can get one for £150 and given that I was going to be using it for studio only, it might have done...

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

Thanks for this info. Could I ask how much these are to buy? I can't spend mega bucks is the only problem. Did you compare these to ampeg cabinets too?
